While I was in St. George last weekend, I was able to squeeze in an engagement session with Chad and Mandy. I loved being able to do a session in sunny St. George - it looked and felt like spring there! The weather and the lighting were both perfect. I'm looking forward to doing the rest of their wedding pictures in the upcoming months. I'm not quite finished editing the session yet, but I do have a few finished. I have been neglecting this photography blog! The winter slows down a lot with photography (because of the terrible weather and ugly outside) and I take advantage of my break.

I set up my background the other day to take some pictures of two of my friends' cute little babies. It was a quick little session, like 30 minutes total between the two of them, but we got some amazing pictures. I always say, it's really hard to take a bad picture of a cute baby.

McCoy is so adorable. He was cracking me up! He just barely turned six months old and he was crawling all over the place. He was even trying to pull up on my leg! He is so dang cute.

Oh, just look at Baby Hilary's eyes! She also has the most perfect little lips. I just adore her!

I had a session with this adorable family last week. I was nervous about timing and lighting since it gets dark so early and so quick now, but it ended up being absolutely gorgeous. It wasn't too cold, the kids were so cooperative, and the family is beautiful! I am slow on getting their sneak preview posted (I was in charge of Super Saturday for my church - now that it's over I'm able to get to work!), but here it is!

Oh my goodness, this cute little baby girls is so stinkin' adorable. I could just eat her up! Baby Kate is turning one in a few days. We met up for a few outdoor pictures in the orchards, but neither Kate nor the weather were in the mood for pictures. I got a few beautiful pictures and then it started sprinkling just as Kate decided she was done having her pictures taken. We scheduled another date for round #2 and set up to do some indoor shots. It was a lot of fun and Kate was such a good little girl. Happy (almost) birthday to Kate!

While I was in St. George, I was able to take some pictures of my sister and her family. She was in need of her regular fall family pictures (which I can't post because it would spoil her Christmas cards!), pictures of the twins who are turning three soon, and pictures of the baby who is turning one in about a month. I had a lot of fun taking pictures of these cute kids - it gives me a reason to hang out with them while my kids aren't there so I get to feel like a fun aunt for a few minutes.

My sister made the adorable 1 cupcake shirt. Isn't it to die for? She also made ones for the twins with a 3 on them. They turned out so cute.

Does this picture crack anyone else up? The twins look like little Ralph Lauren models or something.

I had a quick session with this adorable family again. I did little McCoy's newborn pictures a few months ago and their family pictures last year. It's fun watching their family grow and change. The main reason I became interested in photography was because I became a mother. After I became a mother, I realized how quickly my babies grow and change. Photography is my way of capturing my kids in an exact stage and in an exact moment that I never want to forget. The busier I become, the less time I spend with my own children in front of the lens. I have been trying harder to put my kids on the front-burner and make photographing them more of a priority. So, one afternoon, I looked out the window and noticed that the lighting was beautiful. I scrambled, got the kids ready, and headed out the door (by myself!) to take some pictures of my three kids together. It was far from perfect. The baby spent half the time trying to run away and the other half crying. I was bribing my kids to puh-lease just smile cute and cooperate for a minute. I was stressed to the max the whole time... but you know what? I doesn't matter because I came away with a few images that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Isn't that what it's all about?

This last weekend, we headed down to sunny St. George to attend the wedding of my brother-in-law. I was excited to be able to squish in their engagement pictures and do the wedding pictures all in one day. It was a little crazy, but it was a lot of fun to spend a little extra time with Kaitlyn and Ben before they ran off after the wedding. Oh, I forgot to mention that I was lucky enough to have my husband TJ tag along and "help" me during this session... hah! Good thing TJ is Ben's brother because he was being a big distraction. Hilarious, but a distraction. I'm up to my eyeballs in sessions to edit, but I couldn't resist posting a few of the images from their engagement session.

I had a really fun session with an adorable family on Monday. These parents are such cute parents to their ten month old twin boys. It was fun sitting back and watching them shuffle the boys back and forth like pros. These boys were beyond adorable, but total opposites! One of them smiled if I even made half an attempt at eye contact while the other one made me (and both parents!) work for every single quick smile. But, guess what? Oh. my. goodness. Could you just die? One of my closest friends had her sweet baby girl two weeks ago. She is an angel, just like I expected! She is so tiny and such a sweet little baby. I was lucky enough to get to take a few pictures of my sweet friend Lacee's new little baby yesterday. He is so adorable; he reminds me so much of his big brother! It was a lot of fun getting a chance to hold and snuggle this sweet little guy. There's nothing better than a teeny tiny baby fresh from heaven. Even though McCoy didn't love getting his pictures taken (he was much, much more interested in his binky), we still got some precious pictures.

I had a session with this family almost two years ago. I was excited when they emailed me and asked if I would do their family pictures again. It was fun to see how much the kids had grown in the last two years! They requested a field with an old barn in it. I headed out to an area that I though may have one, and I hit the jack pot! I am in love with this location. I came home from this session and pulled the pictures off my card immediately because I was so anxious to see them. I love how they turned out. This sneak peek is a little longer than normal, I had a really hard time narrowing down my favorites. Enjoy!

I finally had a session with adorable little Max and his family. We were scheduled to do his Mom's maternity pictures when she was pregnant with him, but thanks to a crazy snow storm we had to leave town early and I wasn't able to do her session. Things were crazy at Christmas time and I didn't get to do Max's newborn pictures either. Finally, now that he's six months old, the stars aligned and I was able to do Max's six month pictures and some family pictures. I'm so glad - Max is adorable! I just love his red hair and bright blue eyes. I just barely got back into town and I haven't gone through all of the images from the session, but I did have a minute to pick out a few favorites. Here's a little sneak peek from the session:

I love this shot of Max and his Mamma. I wish I had three like it - one with each of my kids when they were this age.

Isn't this chair to die for? It belonged to Eric's great-great grandmother. I loved that they brought it along for the shoot!

It's been a few weeks since I did Everett's newborn pictures, and finally the weather cooperated enough to get a few quick pictures of Everett and his big sister, Avery.

And, I absolutely cannot believe how big Everett has gotten in just a few weeks! I could barely recognize the cute little chunk! He is so adorable.

I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures of Avery by herself. This image is, by far, my favorite one from the whole night. She looks absolutely angelic.

Ryann is entering the Santaquin Junior Miss pageant. As part of the pageant, the girls submit a photograph of their self. The girl with the best photograph wins the title of "Most Photogenic." Ryann asked me if I would be willing to go out and shoot some pictures of her for the pageant. This shoot was so fun! I'm anxious to see which picture Ryann will choose to submit to the pageant. I think she has a shot at winning!

This is the dress that Ryann will be wearing for the pageant this year. Pictures don't do it justice, it sparkles like crazy! It (I should say she) is going to look amazing under the stage lights.

Sweet little Audrey is just a few days away from turning six months old. She is one of the strongest little babies I've ever taken pictures of! She was sitting up a few days before she turned five months old. I have a feeling she is going to keep her Momma on her toes. Audrey's family was in town for the weekend so we had to squeeze a session in quick. We only had a few minutes to do pictures before Audrey's bedtime, but I am pleased with the images we got.

I think this picture is just precious. It makes me wish I had one just like of each of my kids when they were babies.

My baby had her first birthday at the beginning of the month. I can't believe she is already a year old - the year has gone by so quickly! It seems like just yesterday she surprised us by arriving six weeks early. I knew her birthday would be almost perfectly timed with the blossoming cherry and apple orchards, so I patiently waited for the right night to take her out and do pictures. They weren't as blossomy (is that a word?) as I had hoped, but I still love how the images turned out. I had my husband there to help me and my two older kids were in the Denali watching a movie. I was worried we were out past Hailey's bedtime and she might not be happy, but she was a little champ. The session was quick, probably under 30 minutes, but with my husband's help (and the fact that she can't walk yet) we were able to get enough images to satisfy me. Prepare for a picture overload! It's hard to choose a favorite when I'm so smitten by the baby in the pictures.

But, before you see some of her first birthday pictures, here is a video I made to celebrate her first year of life.

And now, on to the pictures.

I think this might be my favorite image from the whole session. I had everything loaded in the Denali and as we were pulling out of the garage, I spotted my son's trike hanging on the wall. I made my husband stop the car, grab the trike, and load it up. I just knew it would look so adorable in the orchards with her red bow, jean romper, chubby thighs, and big smile. I'm so glad I made him grab it!

I also made sure to pack Hailey's birthday tutu dress and her (barely still floating) birthday balloons.

These cheeks! And that button nose! Don't you just want to kiss her?

This is a little tutu I made special for her birthday pictures. Unfortunately for me, I didn't get very many pictures of her in it. It was the third outfit of the night and she was tired of performing for me. She had a lot more fun trying to eat the tutu with her new teeth. I do, however, absolutely love this image of her bare arms, chubby hands, curls, and her perfect little profile. I (obviously) cannot get enough of this little girl.

The weather has been unpredictable lately. It's gorgeous one day and snowing the next. I am, however, enjoying this time of year right now because I know within the next month I'm going to start getting really busy and I won't have as much time (or motivation) to take my own kids out and do pictures.

On Sunday, my kids were looking extra cute in their matchy-matchy outfits (I can't resist!). Kate and Jonas wore these outfits last year for Easter and when I realized they still fit them I hopped right onto Ebay and found Hailey a dress to match them. Adorable! I have their Easter outfits for this year sitting in their closets. I'm just waiting for the blossoms to blossom on the cherry orchards and the apple orchards. I plan on taking my three kids out in their Easter outfits to get a picture and I plan on doing Hailey's first birthday pictures in the blossoming cherry orchards.

I thought since I have been neglecting this photography blog (I'm soaking up all the time before I get really busy with pictures again - I usually start booking like crazy in May) I would post a few pictures that I've done of my own kids. I have been working hard at getting different backdrop set ups for indoor child and newborn sessions.

You can't tell very well in this picture, but there's a bead-board backdrop behind Hailey.

This backdrop is my current favorite. I love it! And the baby, I love her too!

Here's another view of the bead-board backdrop... and my adorable five year old!

And here's my cute three year old boy. I absolutely love using the window light from his room and capturing him in his own space.

I needed an updated picture of Jonas and one of Hailey to change out the pictures in my entryway. I hurried and took a few pictures of them in front of the stone on my front porch. That spot always gets amazing light in the early afternoon.

I had the chance to photograph this sweet little newborn baby on Saturday. She is just over three weeks old and as adorable as ever. She seemed so tiny! She was a little older than some of the newborns I photograph and she wasn't afraid to let us know that she was getting sick of being posed and moved around. It didn't matter, we still came away with some gorgeous pictures and I had a lot of fun holding a tiny baby for a minute.

This amazing little baby girl is the reason we headed to St. George over the weekend.

My little niece (my fifth niece, to be exact) was blessed by her Daddy. Before the big event, we did a quick little mini session to get an updated family picture for my sister's family an a few individual pictures of Audrey to hang on the wall.

Audrey was blessed on Sunday morning and while the other women were slaving away in the kitchen, I was the lucky one who got to sit and play with the baby and take her pictures. She was so easy to work with, especially for being two months old. I had to make sure and capture all the little details of her blessing outfit because it was cute, but most important, because my Mom made the entire thing. She's amazing. I'm so glad I got to be there for this little lady's special day! I love her.

We had to do a couple quick tutu pictures to hang in her room to match the tutu pictures I took of her big sister Anna two years ago.

I went to St. George over the weekend and while I was there I had the chance to photograph this amazing little family. The weather was amazing the entire day up until about 10 minutes before the session. It all of a sudden got a little chilly (not cold, because St. George never really gets cold) and the wind was blowing. Kaden was a champ through all the pictures, but poor little Kennedy was freezing and didn't want to have anything to do with the pictures. Luckily, we were still able to get some gorgeous pictures - and even some with Kennedy smiling! Here's a little preview to hold them over until I get their disc in the mail:

I was excited when my cute cousin, Mekelle, asked me to do her engagement photos. Then, I remembered that it's been less than 20 degrees outside and there's tons of snow everywhere. I've never done a session in the snow before, and I was nervous! It's hard to find a spot with clean, pretty white snow (instead of the dirty yucky snow that is by any road or high traffic areas) and it's even harder to keep your nose from turning bright red when it's freezing cold outside. But, guess what? It was a giant success! We were way limited on time, thanks to the fact that it gets dark so early and it was so cold, but we came away with some amazing images. Not only that, but it was fun to see Mekelle and meet her fiancée. Since her wedding is only a month away, I've been editing like crazy to get these pictures finished. I am so excited for Megan to get married! Megan is one of my best friends from high school and I just love her. We don't get to hang out as much as I'd like so I was really excited when she asked me to take her engagement pictures. It was my first time meeting Eric and... I approve. Really, he's the perfect match for my hilariously fun Megan.

P.S. I'll be designing their wedding invitation as well. To prove how awesome and funny Megan is, here's an except for the wording for her invitation:

I am so behind! I did this session over a week ago and I told Katie I would post a preview of the pictures a week ago. I have a million reasons why it didn't get done, but still. How rude of me!

Isn't this family the cutest little family? Katie is my daughter's preschool teacher, they live in my neighborhood, and they go to the same ward as we do. Lucky for us, we get to see a lot of them! I had so much fun on this session. These two little girls are some of the cutest girls I know. They have the best personalities, they are sweethearts, and they are super funny. Katie and Brian better watch out in a few years! I'm glad I got to take their family pictures, it was a lot of fun. AND, I got the better end of the deal :)

I recently had the opportunity to do some trade work with a seller, Misslis' Boutique, on etsy. I photographed my three kids in a few of the hats from her shop. I am in love with these hats! Not only are they adorable, but they are also really high quality. I've gone out a few times to get pictures of my kids in the hats and I'm sure I'll go a couple more times. The first time I took the kids out it was fuh-reezing cold. It was too cold to even get the baby out of the car. That session only lasted a few minutes. The next time we went the weather and lighting we both gorgeous! I got some great shots of the two older kids, but because the baby isn't sitting up by herself yet I couldn't get any of her. I finally got a minute where I could drag my husband along with me to help prop the baby so we could get some cute pictures of her. Morale of the story? I'm in love with these kids and I'm in love with these hats.

My cute cousin and her family flew in for a quick weekend in Utah. I was so excited to be able to take some cute pictures of baby E. and their family while they were in town - it was a wonderful excuse to spend a little time with them! The last time I took "official" pictures of these babies was just over a year ago. I can't believe that these two are almost TWO years old. I keep thinking I should stop calling them "the babies" but I just don't think I can do it. I think I'm pretty lucky to have such adorable kids of my own, but then on top of that I have equally adorable nieces and nephews. And I just love them. I love Ethan and his 100% laid back attitude and his feisty sister who is completely opposite in every single way. The lighting was not friends with me during their session and I kept complaining about it. Then you factor in a busy toddler, times two. I think I made my sister nervous that we wouldn't have any good images. So, to hold her over until I'm finished editing the session, here's a sneak peek of some of my favorites so far.

Remember this maternity session from not very long ago? Little Landry made his appearance about two weeks ago. He scared his mom & dad with a NICU stay, but he seems to be doing well now - thank goodness! Landry was my FOURTH session this week and it didn't disappoint. We came out with some amazing images. Landry is a handsome little guy and I'm glad I got to spend a little bit snuggling him while I took his pictures. As always, I had a really hard time narrowing down pictures for a sneak peek, but here they are:

The background is a blanket that Brittany brought. As soon as I saw it I knew I would want to use it as a backdrop for a few pictures!

I had a session with this cute little guy this week. He's a month old and just plain adorable! I worried he would be harder to pose because he's older but he was a really easy laid back baby. The session went wonderfully and I'm really happy with the images we got!

This first picture is one of my new all time favorite pictures. His mom and dad said he sleeps with his arms up like that all the time, so I was excited to capture it so his parents can always remember it :)

I had an amazing photo session last night with this beautiful little girl! Ellie just turned one about a month ago and she was due for some new pictures. I was a little worried at the beginning of the shoot because we pulled up to the location we'd chosen (a park) and it was CLOSED! We decided to be rebels and go in anyway. Lucky for us, the cops didn't kick us out until the session was wrapping up. I felt like such a rebel! Ellie was very straight-faced for a lot of the session and I know her Mom was worried we didn't get any good smiling pictures, but we did.

Remember this family? During this session their cute Mom told me a little secret... she was pretty sure she was pregnant. And she was right!

Her cute little girl arrived about two weeks ago and isn't she precious? While I was in St. George last week I was able to squeeze in this newborn session with gorgeous little Semaya. I couldn't believe how teeny tiny she was! It shocked me to think that my little Hailey was smaller than that just over three months ago, and now she seems like a giant compared to Semaya. This little angel is so lucky to have such an amazing family! She has unbelievable parents and six other siblings, one of which (her big brother, Kyler) is not even a year old yet! This was, by far, the biggest group I've ever done pictures of! The pictures were taken on the most gorgeous piece of land I've ever seen. I would be in heaven if I had climbing vines, TONS of trees, a waterfall, and a rickety old fence in my yard. I would live outside. The weather was perfect (I'm guessing around 80) and the people were beautiful. I have a lot of images from this session (how could I not, with 40+ people and lots of individual families?) and I'm having fun going through them. This cute family was given a gift certificate at Christmas for a session with me. Their oldest son is leaving on his LDS mission (in fact, I think he's gone now!) - the perfect reason for an updated family picture. We were just barely able to arrange our schedules and squeeze in a session... things are busy when you have eight kids and you are trying to get everything together before one leaves for two years! My baby girl is already two months old. Where does the time go? I wanted at least a couple of pictures of her on her two month old birthday, so I took a few even though the lighting wasn't the best and she was tired and ready for bed. She only lasted about 15 minutes and she spent most of the time either sucking on her arm or on her pacifier. I have to admit, the first picture below is my favorite because she sucks on anything she can get her little mouth on. At two months, my tiny baby weighed in at 9 pounds 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. I sure love this tiny baby of mine!

Have you ever seen a cuter little family of four? This family belongs to one of my husband and I's best friends from high school. Mike, Kim, & their cute kids came to visit and stayed the weekend with us. While they were here, we managed to sneak in a session so they could have an updated family picture. I got a call from my good ol' college friend, Aliese (she's the beauty above), at Christmas...

... She told me she wanted to give these two, her parents, a gift certificate for...

... one a these: a family session so that they could have an updated family picture before her brother leaves on his LDS mission.

I drove down to Manti and met her family at the Manti temple. I was a little nervous because we had to do the session at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. For photographers like me, 1 o'clock in the afternoon = potential lighting nightmare. I hadn't been to the Manti temple in about twelve years so I had no idea what we would be dealing with. I was pleasantly surprised! It was beautiful! I had a lot of fun taking pictures of Aliese's cute family. They are a crack up. I had to keep a close eye on all of them. When I was paying more attention to lighting and proper photography, those naughties would sneak in some texting and bunny ears - all while I was still shooting! They definitely kept me laughing and kept me on my toes. Loved it.

These four "children" are hilarious.

I had an amazing engagement session last night with this adorable couple. It was even more fun for me because their "love story" was so similar to mine and TJ's. Anais and Chad met before his mission, she waited for him, and their engagement is only five weeks long. Thanks again for such a wonderful time, and congratulations on the wedding!

In case you've been wondering where I disappeared to...

My beautiful daughter, Hailey Jean, decided to grace us with her presence... six weeks early! She weighed in at 5 pounds 6 ounces and 18 inches long. Getting her here was quite the ordeal, but well worth it! Hailey spent two weeks (a short amount of time since they estimated she would be in there until my due date, which was June 8th) in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit and they were some of the longest two weeks of my life. We were more than happy when she was finally able to come home. So, here are some pictures I took of her while she was in the NICU.

And since everybody asks: No, neither of my other kids ever had that much hair when they were born and it was never that dark either. I've always wanted a dark-haired baby.

This is how Hailey looked the first time I ever got to see her. She wasn't able to breathe on her own after she was born, so she spent about five hours on a ventilator. We were thrilled that it was only five hours and not longer. Seeing her hooked up on those machines hurt my heart.

We didn't get to hold her very much at all in the beginning, once a day if we were lucky, so we had to hold her tiny little hands instead.

Hailey had to have an IV line go in through her umbilical cord.

This was my first time holding my little baby.

This is how Hailey received most of her feedings during her hospital stay.

She spent a few days on oxygen.

This is the face she made to let us know she wanted to go home... do you blame her?

A few days before she went home. They didn't take out her feeding tube until we were ready to go home. Nothing was more wonderful than seeing my beautiful baby be completely cord and tube free.

This cute little guy is 2 months old! I was worried the session would be a little more difficult because he was past the "newborn" stage, but he did so good! He hardly fussed the entire session and put up with outfit changes and poses. He even slept through a lot of the poses and even through a couple of the outfit changes. I'm already almost finished editing (new computer = less than half the time spent editing... wahoo!) the session and I think this first image is going to end up being one of my all time favorite newborn portraits.

Isn't he adorable? It makes me excited to have my own little one soon.

Phew! These images are form another session I had over Christmas weekend. Can you tell I'm behind? Sick kids, birthdays, the pregnancy and trying to plan for our 5 year anniversary have really put me behind schedule on updating this blog. Better late than never, right?

This family was adorable. I went to high school with "J", and probably haven't seen her in almost 10 years! It was fun to see her for a short hour and be able to catch up and meet her adorable family. The two little busy boys reminded me a lot of my Jonas - only there were two of them! "J" is most definitely a super-mom to keep up with those 3 cute kids! The little baby girl was just adorable. Poor thing was freezing (good thing the session was in St. George rather than Northern Utah!) but she smiled so adorable over and over again after she warmed up in the car and had a bottle.

I had a session with this tiny little 13 day old baby girl last week. She was only 5 pounds 14 ounces when she was born, and she was just so incredibly tiny and perfect! I had an engagement session with these two a few nights ago. I was hired by someone else (the bride's brother and sister-in-law) to take their engagement pictures as a gift. Isn't that an awesome idea? I had never even thought of something like that, but I fell in love with the idea. We had all heard of this amazing location, but had never been there. It was a little bit of a hike to get there, but so totally worth it. It was beautiful! These two were naturals in front of the camera and I'm loving the variety of shots we got. Remember when I posted about Shay's bridals? Well, last weekend was her gorgeous wedding on the beach in Morro Bay, California. It was a quick trip for me and the plane ride made my newly pregnant self completely sick but in the end it was totally worth it. I'm pretty sure there couldn't have been a more gorgeous location for a wedding or a better backdrop for wedding pictures. The day before their wedding, the weather was foggy and dreary. The day after was even more foggy, cold, and dreary. The day of their wedding was perfect. The sun was shining and their wasn't a cloud in the sky. It was beautiful. There were so many tiny details that went into this wedding that completely fit Shay and Colton's personality and made it so memorable: the girls all had red shoes, but they just carried them as an accessory rather than wearing them on the beach. The boys all sported flip-flops and chains on their tuxes. There were rose petals strewn all along the bridal path on the beach. One of my other favorite details: Colton's ring. It even matched their wedding colors and was one of the coolest rings I've ever seen. It completely fit him and I know he's going to be proud to wear it! No matter how gorgeous the wedding and all the details were, I have to admit that my favorite part was spending time with Shay. I was honored to be able to help her get ready, calm her nerves, help her go potty (haha!), and just hang out with her like the good ol' days. For the record, I said that her bridal shoot was my favorite shoot so far. That's not true anymore, this one is!

I haven't even looked at the photos of the reception yet. I've been having way too much fun with all of these gorgeous beach photos. So, for now, enjoy the sneak peek!

This cute family scheduled a session with me, and decided they wanted pictures done at the orchards and on the railroads track. When they got here, I was excited because their kids were almost the exact same age as my kids. The session was a lot of fun! I couldn't get over how cute the kids were. 9 Months Old

While I was in St. George over Labor Day weekend, I decided to not book any sessions so I could spend time with my family. Just after I decided that, my sister called to schedule a session with me to take the twins' nine month old pictures. A little bit after that, my sister in law emailed me and asked if she could schedule me to take their family pictures. So, I ended up doing two sessions after all, but I was ok with it because I was still spending time with my family!

Saturday morning, bright and early, we headed out to take pictures of these two babies. It was so much fun! They are at such a fun age right now, and I love how their cute personalities show through on their pictures. I posted ten pictures, and I had a really hard time narrowing it down to ten! Both babies looked adorable and had smiles on their faces 90% of the shoot.

I loved taking their pictures, and I loved being able to spend time with them (and their Momma!) while doing it. I'm looking forward to their big 1 year session!

I am finally caught up on my editing. Phew! This was the other session I had during my quick trip to St. George. Isn't he the cutest? Jaxton is turning two soon. This session was extra fun because Jaxton is the son of my Dad's best friend's daughter... does that make sense? When we were little we spent a ton of time together while our Dad's were causing trouble. I haven't seen her in at least 15 years, so this was a treat! Jaxton was adorable and as busy as a normal two year old boy... he actually reminds me a lot of Jonas. I spent the majority of the session chasing after him and it was worth it. I think the pictures totally fit his personality.

Oh. my. gosh. I am still on a photographer's high from this session! I went to St. George for a couple sessions last weekend and I still can't get over how fun it was; however, I think this session with Shay is my all-time favorite session so far to date. An hour before our session was scheduled to start it was dumping rain. I was horrified because I thought we might have to reschedule - not an easy task when I live in Northern Utah and Shay lives in California! Luckily, the storm stopped just before our session and by the time we finished it was sprinkling again. The storm actually ended up being wonderful because the lighting was soft and beautiful and the sky couldn't have looked more gorgeous. Combine the beautiful landscape with a beautiful bride... I don't think we could have taken a bad shot! Shay's wedding is in October (a beach wedding in California - can't wait to spend time photographing her and her soon-to-be husband on the beach!) and I'm even more excited than I was before. I loved everything about this session: loved the dress, loved the hair, loved the flower, loved the umbrella, loved the red shoes, and especially I loved spending time with the beautiful bride!

I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures of my son after his nap yesterday. It's so much easier to get pictures of him when he's stuck in his crib! It was even easier when he heard the train coming. Remember this cute couple I did engagement pictures for a few months ago? Well, time flies and their wedding is just around the corner. They decided they wanted something a little different than the normal Southern Utah wedding pictures (aka red rock) so they headed up to my place to have the pictures taken. I've been wanting an excuse to take some more pictures in the orchards next to my house, and I was glad when these two were up for it. I am really happy with they way they turned out - everything looks so lush and green! If you look close, you'll be able to spot the cherries and apples in a few of the pictures.

I drove down to Beaver, UT last Friday to take Jocelyn's newborn pictures along with family pictures. I had such a great time taking pictures for them - what a fun family! They wanted to take pictures around this apple tree in this gorgeous little area. Not only was I loving the brightgreen wild grass, but we also found this old bench on the porch of a house nearby. We were able to borrow it for a few pictures, but I had a hard time giving it back... they are lucky it wouldn't fit in my trunk!

I had a session with this precious newborn on Friday. She was so adorable, but I could tell she's going to have spunk. She was not afraid to let me know when she didn't like a position... and she wasn't afraid to let me know when she did like a position! I took these pictures awhile ago and I forgot to post them! They were taken about a month ago. The shoot was cut drastically short because Kate was paranoid of the bees buzzing around her, but I'm glad I at least got a few beautiful shots.

The area I live in is surrounded by tons of orchards. There are orchards every where I turn! I waited and waited this year until the blossoms became completely full, then I loaded up Kate and headed over to the orchards to take a couple pictures. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was to be in the middle of the orchard and all of the blossoms.

Wouldn't this setting be absolutely stunning for family pictures? Too bad the blossoms are already gone! I think it would still be just as beautiful for family pictures in the middle of all the green trees.

I love the area I live in!

This adorable little girl belongs to one of our best friends from high school. They stopped to see us while they were passing through town. Since the boys were downstairs playing ping-pong, we decided to dress her up in some tutus and take some cute pictures of her. I'm so glad we did! These cute babies were blessed on Saturday and I was lucky enough to take their pictures (the fact that I'm their Aunt might have something to do with it...). I loved being able to capture them in their precious little blessing outfits that were sewn by their Grandma (my mom). And, I was happy we were able to squeeze in some tutu pictures of Anna (these tutu pictures will be perfect to display at the craft fair!). It was a beautiful day and I'm happy I was able to take their pictures. I hope their Mommy (and Daddy) will {cherish} them!

I had a hard time picking my favorite pictures... can you tell?

Little Halle is almost six months old, so her mom called and asked me to take some pictures of her today. Also, we wanted some more tutu pictures to display at the craft fair. These pictures turned out adorable! Halle is such a little angel.

My little Princess is turning three years old. She is having a princess birthday party and couldn't be more excited about it! We needed some pictures of her in her princess outfit to put on her invitations, so I set up shop yesterday and took the pictures. They turned out great! As always, she looked just like a princess.

And yes, I made the wand and the tutu. For those of you in Utah Valley, look for us at upcoming craft fairs. It looks like we'll have a booth and we will be selling wands, tutus, bows, and other crafty things.

As part of their Christmas gift, I took a few pictures of Tim and Tanaya. They turned out so cute! Speaking of these pictures, I need to send a disc of them to Tanaya! Aren't they a great looking couple?

We needed an updated family picture on my husband's side of the family. We ran down Christmas day and took a quick picture. We were only down there for about ten minutes, and we were lucky enough to get a good shot. We had it printed on 11x14 and it looked great! I was impressed with the quality. Hopefully this one stays updated for at least a year :)

I needed some pictures of my kids to put on our Christmas card. I took them out in the freezing cold to get a few shots. Kate did great! Jonas looked like a little stud, but he refused to smile in any of the pictures (so unlike him). Smile or no smile, I thought the pictures turned out ok. Not fantastic, but ok. They matched the card I made great, so I was happy with everything overall.

While I was in St. George over Thanksgiving (wow, I am behind on blogging!), I stole my cute neice and nephew for a quick photoshoot. I didn't have a chance to get too many pictures (thank you Ethan, for peeing on the backdrop) but these two were my favorite from the whole session. Aren't they adorable? I love their newborn wrinkly skin.

I was asked to take pictures of this adorable baby boy in his blessing outfit. He looked like such a little stud in his tux! He was a cutie, and gave us some cute smiles for his pictures (once his tummy was full!). He was a lot of fun, and we ended up getting a lot of cute shots. I was bummed that they were running late (isn't that how it always is with a new baby?), and we missed the good light for outdoor family shots. Luckily we were able to get lot of cute ones with the classic black background.
